air filters

I wanan buy an air filter/purifier for my room to get rid of all the dust and pollen. ANy one know a good deal about air filters/purfiers? here are two that I am thinking about getting

choice 1

Choice 2 is something called an ionizer purifier. I found it on froogle this morning for $82, but I can't seem to find it again. Some one explain how this works?

The ionizer makes ozone. There's two distinct camps on this. One says its great, quiet, doesn't use much energy and really kills odors/dust. The other camp says it produces ozone which isn't good for you.

I used to work in the air filter business...what ionizers do is charge the particles in the air, which causes them to stick to the metal in machine, but most likely to stick on your walls, carpet, etc. If you're going to get an air filter, then ionizers aren't really what you're looking at. If you buy an $80 air filter, you get a cheap filter that will only do about 50-70% of the job.
If you want the best, you gotta spend the bucks, filter queens are the best, but expensive (about $750 retail), but you can eBay for one for much cheaper, and the quality of their air filters are GREAT. With these guys you will notice a diference...

i saw one ionizer on google for $82. however, i can't find teh link anymore. oh well, they ar eout of the question anyways. I would like to spend the least possible. I will just be using it to get stuff like pollen, dust, and cat dander out of teh air. It is just for a bedroom also. Vey basic.

i think the one that SharperImage sells is one of the better ones...and very good reviews..
plus washable...no refills.
