Air combat flight sim

I'm looking for an air combat flight game (preferably from WW2) .... anyone have any suggestions?

Sturmovik and Pacific Fighters are supposed to be the best from what I understand.

graphics aren't that great though.

IL2: Forgotten Battles Gold. Pretty much the benchmark for modern WW2 flight sims. Check out SimHQ for very active forums on the game and check out HyperLobby for multiplayer action.

Sturmovik is now the older standalone engine with not much activity. Forgotten Battles is the newer engine that can be updated with both "Aces expansion pack" and "Pacific Fighters", as well as some new downloads from Russia. It also includes all the content of the older IL2 game.

i.e. don't purchase IL2 Sturmovik. 😀

Unfortunately those games are infected with Starforce.

None of the IL2 series has Starforce, List. You can actually install the game by copying the files in Windows Explorer from the CD, so you don't have to worry about the program infecting your registry either. 😛
