Aim username question

Is there anyway to get one without having to install their crappy virus on my computer?

It's been years since I used Aim, but I have friends that use it so i want to use the service but the last time I signed up for it I had to install the program to get a username, then I could use it with Trillian, but it took me days to get all of their crap off my computer.

So, I need to get an AIM username wihtout actually installing their crap.
