AIM sounds TOO loud?

glen

Lifer
I have LOTR in mp3 so I am listenign to the books.
I also have AIM up.
The GD sounds in AIM are so loud it startles the crap out of me when someone comes in or leaves.
I want to re record these sounds so they are about a 10th as loud.
Any ideas?

take the sounds off, set aim to flash in your taskbar when someone sign's on or off... I thought that there was a volume option for the sounds in aim...

Would it work to make nero think that your going to burn them as tracks on a cd but instead use their sound editing and then save the file? (get what I'm saying?)

Typically, the AIM sounds are stored in C:\Program Files\AIM95\Sounds

Load Sound Recorder from Start -> Accessories -> Entertainment -> Sound Recorder

Open the first file you want to lower the volume for, then go to Effects -> Decrease Volume and play it. If you need to lower it more, then press it again. If not, just go File -> Save and then open up the next one.

pulse8 thank you for your help........i will try that out in a bit.........as i dont want that noise anymore
