AIM question

I'm using Trillian and I can see some people "typing a message..." while others I can't. I know one of them using the regular AIM client, I can see this info. My fiancee using the same Trillian level as me (pro 2.013) says she can see me typing... but I can't see her typing. I click my own name to chat with myself (it works) and I can see the message also.

What's the deal here ? Is there a setting they or I am missing ?

They are missing the setting. I forget where the option is to turn it on/off.

in the regular aim i think its under privacy settings, there is a setting for it thought because i always shut it off

It might be under Prefrences--->AIM---->Privacy in the new version.
