I posted this... but in the wrong forum (general hardware). So i'm posting here.
My AIM (aol instant messenger) is not working properly.
I can connect t AIM, but my buddy list does not load. AIM happens to say:

"Your buddy list and buddy icon are not available currently, but they have not been lost. Please try again later."

I just reformatted my computer, but the rest of my internet connection seems fine (I'm posting on the same computer).
I tried creating a new account, and I had the same problem.

What's wrong?
I downloaded the latest version of AIM just before I tried it.

Deslocke,

did you do anything to aim? or did you just wait until the problem went away?

should i keep signing on/signing off? or should i just wait for an hour or so?

It's at AOL's end... This problem has nothing to do with anything on your computer.... Reformatting was unnecessary.

okay.

btw, the reformatting was because i just got an old radeon 8500le to replace an even older geforce2. i had problems finding all the nvidia files and my computer was crashing when i tried to get the radeon in. reformatting seemed to be the simplest (less of a hassle anyway) way of getting it in. it's in there now and working fine. i thought there was a possibility that the radeon or my reformatting was the cause of my aim problems. apparently not. this is the first time it happens. hopefully it doesn't happen too much. thanks anyway. aim is back on
