AIM & Outlook Express

Did a quick search, didn't see anything about this, so here goes:

I have AOL Instant Messanger version 5.13036 and Outlook Express 6.00.2800.1123 😀

Well the fine people at AOL have seen fit to do the following things:

a) Open AIM whenever I open Outlook (if AIM is not already open)
b) Put all of the people on my buddy list into the contacts section of Outlook Express

I hate both of these things. I can't seem to find an easy way to stop this in either the AIM or Outlook options menus, can anyone help me stop these things from happening?!

The only way I could get that to stop was to uninstall AIM and then reinstall it.
For some reason it broke the connection between the two.

Go into AIM preferences, click on Sign On/Off and uncheck the "Make AIM my default instant messaging program".

THANKS! that did it, no more pointless buddy names mixed in with my important email addresses.
