AIM...giving me problems...any suggestions

I upgraded AIM and now the program refuses to function correctly. I uninstalled and reinstalled the program and it still won't connect. Any suggestions for making it work?

What's it (not )doing?
Do you have any programs like deadAIM running?
If all else fails, you can try finding the older version or an alternative client.
