I'm doing a quick build for a friend using my IS7.
I'm thinking of getting an AI7 to replace it. Silly question, perhaps, but if I got the AI7, is there enough difference between the two to warrant reformatting my hard drive?

i believe they both share the same chipset, the 865. So a reinstall would not be needed. Though, if you wanted to be safe, you could always revert back the the default windows ide drivers before you switched boards.

btw, I can't seem to find it, but I know there's a guide explaining how to switch boards ( if you want to be really careful) floating around the arstechnica.com forums. Hope this helps.
