On one hand most Europeans probably couldn't place more than a handful of states, let alone tell you something unique about the states. On the other hand the AI is trained on real data :p

What is in the bowl in the New Hampshire image? Was trying to figure it out. I thought it was cut up bananas but I'm pretty sure bananas don't grow in NH lol

Depends how far the 'prompts' were custom chosen for each picture/state. That could have determined the resultant image just as much as whatever implicit "stereotypes" are out there in the "training data".

It's interesting that the style of the images often seems to fit the chosen state (e.g. California - I'm sure that visual style reminds me of some California-related art, or Virginia that looks like an 18th century painting).

But it's odd and unfortunate that everyone in them is white (though that Hawaiian woman might be mixed?)
