Apparently he doesn't have much in the way of class (cheating scum), and we know with which head he does most of his thinking.

What you choose to do in your private life is your choice, but that doesn't mean it can't be seen as an indicator of poor judgment, poor choices and poor discipline. Those are not exactly the qualities one should look for in a "leader", but then again, it is California so the standards are low.

I don't know what he saw in Skeletor to begin with. How does one judge someone's relationship counter a point when one doesn't see the point?
I can't even begin to put myself in his shoes on this one, so the variables affecting the judgement cannot be pinned down. Thus I grant him great leeway.

What I've seen of him previously indicates he has perspective and class. His statement regarding this shows he has perspective and class. I'm not gonna ignore that just to judge him based on something that may be and in regards to his penis.
Sex is a biological imperative. What one does when horny isn't the best indicator of what one will do when not. It may corroborate, but I wouldn't use it as a sole source.

No, that's just dumb. He was married. He committed adultery and fathered a child outside of wedlock while still married to another woman. That's wrong, plain and simple. If he wasn't happy in his marriage or whatever, he was free to file for divorce and do what he wanted. He didn't, he chose to cheat instead.

If you are unable to control your urges and use your better judgment, if you are unable to live up to your word and your vows in marriage, if you are so selfish as to take actions that are going to destroy multiple lives, you are clearly not in a position to lead anything.

I used to be fairly involved (in a 'non public' way) with state politics.



Almost all of these guys have "girlfriends" in the city. Usually up and coming lobbyists who know that they're a booty call who can in turn call in the favor later on if the guy actually has some power. State reps, etc etc etc...





All of you that are upset over this would be really amazed at some of the stuff that's actually truly shocking.. This is basically nothing, unfortunately... Dems, Repubs, everything inbetween.. They all do it.

I don't doubt that it's very common, and I don't find it at all "shocking", that's just the nature of politicians in general. They are very adept and projecting one image and then doing something different. Just because a lot of them do it doesn't make it right.

A moral absolutist is in no position to lead a complex society. You can always slice things down to where "black" and "white" don't work anymore, and there the moral absolutist relies on capriciousness to get his absolutist fix.
I would rather have someone who actually understands what's going on and can weigh the gray in terms of its separate values.

You talk about judgment, but the moral absolutist isn't doing it in its fullness. He jumps to preconceived conclusions rather than weighing things as they lie in situ in relation to the system in which they lie.
A moral absolutist might to decide to invade England because he thinks driving on the left is an abomination. A relativist would have more things to consider.

And relativism is not anathema to direction. One can be quite confident in one's relativistic assessments. Decisions are always absolutes.

As for Arnold, you're talking about narrowing a general rule down for a specific case. I see no need to make him part of the general population in this.
He's high profile enough that there's no mistaking him for anyone else.
