AHHHHHH! The Time Has Come!

Spooner

Lifer
I have my appointment in a couple of hours to get all 4 of my wisdom teeth yanked.

Wish me luck!

EDIT: So I'm back, and I'm hurtin' like hell. Nothing like swallowing blood all day to keep you full 😕

I had dry sockets and was bedridden for a fortnight. I was under constant pain killers and three years later still frequently wake up at night with a searing agony arcing through my entire body. I scream and yelp and pass out from the pain!

Goodluck!

Actually it was easy. I got 4 done at once. The pain was mild at most and the next day I was eating (with trouble admittedly but I did) a hamburger. I had minimal swelling and overall a very positive experience.

I had 9 teeth taken out when I had my wisdom teeth out. I had 5 teeth that were under my gumline so they decided to take those out too. Had to do 2 different surgeries. First one they did the left side and took out a total of 4 teeth (2 wisdom.) Second time they did the right side and took out a total of 5 teeth. First surgery was relatively painless. Second one was horrible beyond belief. I can still hear the sounds of the dentist with his tools trying to crack my teeth and then finally hearing my teeth crack.
*shudder*

Haven't needed to get mine removed (whew!)

My gf was a bit...oversensitive to her pain medicine; it was too strong for her and made her throw up (it was really special driving her home with her puking out the window...especially since all she had in her stomach was the blood from the operation - it looked like she was getting fvcking murdered).
Of course, I then got to enjoy the pain medicine she couldn't use, so it all worked out 😀

Hehe hope you dont get dry socket.. it sucks...

Basically the scab falls off and your bone is exposed to the air and it "dries out" hence the dry socket. Hurts really really really bad. Try not to suck on a straw or rinse your mouth too hard.

How old were you guys when you got yours taken out? I still need to take mine out, I'm 23 now. 2 of the teeth on top have come out already- albeit crooked. The bottom two I was told are impacting by other teeth so I know that's going to be fun. I'm scheduling my appointment this week sometime. Been procrastinating it far too long...

Are you sure its from the pain medicine or just a reaction from blood in the stomach? Ingesting blood is a sure-fire way to get yourself to puke.

It was the pain medicine; she almost always reacts that way to it for some reason, which really sucks for her when she needs it.

Good Luck! It's not that bad for most people

man that sucks

Didn't mean to mess ya up, but other than blood, i've only been able to eat half a can of soup

this blows ass.......

I had three of mine taken out (apparently I 'used' the other one, so they left it in).

It isn't that bad...it will hurt for a couple days, but not nearly as bad as the first day.

You can swallow a pint of blood before getting sick. 😉

I never had wisdom out, just some other ones...(do they have special names? 😛) but i just had painkillers and ice cream all day...yup...ice cream 😀 Just make sure you dont have ice cream with choclate chips because then you get one where you got your tooth palled and your like OH S***!
