Thanks, Chris. We really love it even with all the problems. There was a three bedroom house that we could have gotten in another place, but this one "felt" more like home than the other. I really like sitting in our living room, looking out the big windows, and watching the squirrels right now. That may not seem like a big deal, but you know where I'm from. Not a lot of wildlife. I still get a kick out of all the deer and the bear was a shocker too! lol

I had a new one built last year by a very reputable builder.

If that truly is your reason......get ready to be disappointed.

New homes have problems too. I had one built 6 years ago for our first house. Just the settling can cause lots of things to happen like cracking concrete, etc. There are problems not covered in the warranty such appliance problems. Ended up selling that house because of a divorce and now live with my current girlfriend in her 80 year old house. It has different problems, but no more or less than the new construction.

That's my thought. Tim and I could have built a new home, but we chose to get the one we did. EVERY house will have it's problems. New or not.

this is eactly why i bought a new house, i dont have the time nor the patience to deal with problems like these.

Im sure though you will give your home some TLC and it will be very beautiful and functional.

Some day we might get a new home. He and I are really into fixing things up right now. We're one of those couples that like themed rooms and stuff. lol Our kitchen is going to be the roaring 20's. We bought new shades to go over the sink that are red with red beads all along the bottom. We got a Tiffany style lamp for the entrance and we're going to get a Tiffany style chandelier for the entrance also. Our bedroom and master bath are going to be in a safari style and we're working on the rest of the house. So, it's definitely some fun. :D

Ah that sucks! We ended up buying new, but not so much because of this sort of issue, but just because no used ones happened to be price/area/condition that we wanted.

Goodluck with it - you'll get it sorted out ;)

I doubt I will be disappointed. I have watched this man's work very closely and observed the other houses being built. So far he has fixed other people's problems. If he won't fix any that come up with my house, I will just file a complaint with the state contractors board and assuming my complaint is legit, they will make him fix it.

I have had used homes before, and the problems I will have will be minimal at best, in comparison.

lol Well, keep your fingers crossed anyway. I really love our home. Nothing beats all the trees we have. It's much more serene than back home was.
