I just replaced 3 120mm fans with 3 120mm stealth fans that are about 25 dBs quieter.

Does anyone notice that stealth fans kind of have a high pitch noise when they are running?

Still a lot quieter than my previous setup though.....

The fan stopped workin on my GF3ti500.... should I be concerned?

Do you have another card you can throw in the slot for a week? Or perhaps maybe you could not use your comp for a week...

The fan isn't on the Geforce for sh!ts and giggles, it serves the same purpose that all the other fans in your case do...to get rid of heat. If your CPU fan stopped working would you be asking this? If you really want to risk your Geforce like that, for the love of god don't play any games.

I have an extended warranty on the card that I will be using to get a new card when I go home next week. Until then, is there anyway I can damage my mobo or something by leaving it in?

If your video card overheats, it's really a crap shoot whether or not it can damage your motherboard before it fails completely. Let's just say that if you expect failure to be confined to your video card, you may be in for a surprise.

You could always try leaving your case open and pointing a table fan at it. But so much for operating at quiet noise levels.

It would have been even quieter if you had jsut removed the three 120mm fans.

Here's an idea, take out two 120mm fans. Take the third fan, and point it at your broken video card. Quieter, and less liekly for your video card to break. Performance will be exactly the same.

The fan stopped working on my Ti4200 also and I'm working on getting it replaced. I used it w/o the fan for a while though and didn't have any problems. Fortunately I have onboard video while I'm waiting ..

Yea, I have been experimenting with plugging in some fans and leaving others out....

It doesnt seem to matter too much noisewise.... my powersupply seems to be making the most noise....
