two earthquakes just hit north bay area (walnut creek) in the past 10 minutes... it felt big, but i don't know how big they really were. Anyone else feeling them? Its' pretty scary, even though I was in the 1989 one and the 1999 Taiwan one

"Little Earthquakes", Tori Amos. Damn good song.

Everything okay? Your house still standing?

Cracks in the foundation?

When they start clustering then it's time to aorry as it means the big one is going to hit. I remember the months prior to the 89 Quake when there was a lot of siesmic activity.

Davis has cows!!!

I felt it. Whenever that happens I think what any aware person would think - is this it? Will the whole place be shaking like the Dickens in 3 or 4 seconds? Even a gigantic earthquake is likely to take a few seconds to really tear loose. In fact, you may have 10 - 20 seconds to find shelter, safety, someplace better than fate found you. Read a GREAT book on this stuff - "When the Earth Trembles", Haroun Tazief. He describes all the great earthquakes of history going way way back. Fascinating read, and I couldn't put it down.

It doesn't necessarily mean that at all. When they cluster the odds of a big one is significantly greater. It doesn't mean it's coming any time soon. Usually those clusters of small quakes don't amount to anything sizable. However, the chances of a big one are much increased over the average. So, you may as well act on those impulses/thoughts to prepare.

There's a lot of cows in Berkeley.
