Had my M-Audio Revolution soundcard stored away since i rebuilt my system last month. I was just using the onboard audio for the time being...

Popped in my Revo this morning, fired up Foobar w/Kernel Streaming....

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh... How did i go this long w/o it? :D

Technically, it does improve the sound, but what speakers are you people using? I think most of the results are placeboic at best.

As is the difference between MP3, WMA, AAC, 192 and 256kbps bitrates, etc. 95% of the people arguing how great thone or the other are areusing speakers that really aren't good enough to tell the difference.

I can't hear the difference, either.
I have a Live!, so that might be the cause of my inability to notice the superiority of the kernel streaming.

Aye....those who shout the loudest on the subject do so because their crappy speakers have made them all but death:(

My dad has some Klipsch 4.1 speakers which are still considered decent, and I can;t believe people would have the audacity to make acoustic arguments based on what comes out of THAT type of quality.

Hell, my Onkyo reciever, Mirage speakres, and Athena Sub have had their asses handed to them when I've heard much more expensive setups, but still, they blow most iif not all computer speakers away.

We are talking mass produced combo of 40watt 4' in. drivers and a 6-8inch subwoofer vs. mass-produced combo of a 92x2 watt or 50x6watt amp that has two towers with 6.5inch drivers, neodymium tweeters, and a 10 in. 400watt sub that can hit 27hz @ +-3dB(not the great but I couldn;t care less:D ) .

Before fights break out and hair-pulling runs rampant.....enjoy your music either way:D...it is all that we should ever hope for on the subject:D

Now excuse me but I have to go to school in my beater which oddly enough has alpine rears(which came with the car). However, it has stock "everything else" so the 'fidelity' is simply not there.....;)

:music:enjoy some good tunes for me while I am gone:music: :D
