Although very different from most of the choices so far, I always loved the Shogo M.A.D. intro.

hehe, I used to sing to the intro. Except I don't speak Japanese, so I just made up my own lyrics. Don't recall them, but they were all happy sounding about killing and other mayhem.

I think it was Wing Commander 4 that really impressed me at the time.
WC4 was the first game to use videos all shot originally on film. The entire thing was a huge step forward in gaming production values, at the time.

Problem is nowadays they spend too much money producing video games and can't make a profit. And the gamers end up suffering for it. Arguably Wing Commander 4 started the whole cascade of high-priced gaming over the past 15 years.

Wow what a blast from the past. Great posts!!

I loved all the mech games, Earthsiege, Starsiege, and the whole MW series. Why did it die? A MW game with today's technology would be sweeeet...

While checking into the current status of FASA and MW, I found this interesting nugget.

Bookmarked, thanks. Screens and story look promising.

This looks fun, probably causes overheating and shutdown. Easy kill from there. Can't wait..

Then check out Mechwarrior: Living Legends

Yeah, I'd seen that as well - both look promising, if still underdeveloped.

Been a gamer for a long time. Played majority of those games being listed. All great intros, the game intro/music that captured my attention was from a japanese only released console game called Berserk. Dreamcast had another game released in the U.S. based on the same character but hard to find. Well here's the uboob link:

--used to read the manga and bought the boxset anime of this story...pretty interesting stuff.

That game is what made me want to get my first PC. A friend of my father's had that game (it came with his IBM Aptiva), and I used to play that every time I went to house. I loved that game so much, I bugged my dad to get a computer (told him I needed it for school, which was partly true). Funnily enough, I didn't get MechWarrior 2, but I did get MW3 years later, and MW4 (particularly Mercenaries) I still play from time to time.

You know, I always thought the MW2:Mercs intro was better then the MW2.
