Ahhh the memories

Ah, I got goosebumps hearing those radio transmissions again! I still remember that beginning very well! I loved that game way back when!

I was probably more blown away by the intro to Diablo 2 than any other game.

The single player game itself was almost a letdown after that.

Mechwarrior 2 had the best intro I ever saw as well. They might have done better ones since, but that one set the standard for video games that followed.

I wasn't much of a fan of Diablo 2 myself. After Diablo took so much of my time, the sequel was really a disappointment to me. It was like playing the original with a couple extra characters; and already felt old the first time I played it.

Oh man one of the greatest games of all time...the archives library was awesome too...so few games still hold that tradition (Age of...Civ...is all I can think of).

G-Dammit will someone bring a decent mech game that has heavily armed and armored non-anime moving mechs back? All I want are maps that are semi destructable and internet play for several people and mechs that you can customize. Also I know about MW:Living Legends but its not out yet.

The original Homeworld was the best for me, though in recent memory I think Bioshock is decent, if you count the first 15 minutes of the game as an "intro"

the good old days where the intro cg looked 100x better than the actual game..
Music and sound effects were outstanding.

I loved the intro to Battlefield 1942. I remember sometimes quitting the game and launching it again just to watch the intro. Some pretty cool CGI stuff there, and nice epic music to go with it. 🙂

YES! I couldn't agree more, I was going to post this but thought other's might point and laugh at me!

I would actually launch the game, turn my speakers and sub way up, sit back and enjoy prior to shooting people in the face!

The little duh, duh, duh, dun, dun noise gives me goose bumps!

If I remember correctly they add a small sampling of that to BF2's intro which I believe I actually pumped my fist to the first time I heard it.

Negative, Descent: Freespace and Freespace 2 are the greatest.

Edit: Mechwarrior still rules. I wish that there would be another game.

the pilot's voice in the Descent: Freespace intro kind of sounds like Brad from 4playerpodcast

anyways, Starcraft: Brood War intro is my contribution to this thread: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EOEGudEoSW4

also, add the Fallout 1 and 2 intros:
