Dual Booting Win2K and WinME (i know, i know... i don't have a copy of Win98se to play with!)

System is working fine, removed the heatsink/fan off the motherboard chipset and applied some artic silver for extra cooling. Sanded down the heatsink. Painted over the L1 Bridges with RWD. Updated MB Bios.

System boot up fine with 750 clock (7.5x100)
Installed Winme and all the drivers
Installed Win2k and all the drivers
Installed some games (quake3, serious sam, UT) - no crashing at all
TIME TO OVERCLOCK!!!
This is my first system with the kt133a chipset, my other system is the msi kt7 pro2a (which i love!)
8x100 - perfect
8.5x100 - perfect
Time for 133 fsb (266 loving)
7.5x133 - PERFECT!!!! - looping prime 95 and Unreal flyby at home

That is my current overclock 999 MHZ. not 1 Ghz yet but damn close. after some more stability testing, i'll see if the system is still running after i get home from work/working out. i'll push the FSB even more if it is 🙂. Hoping to lower the multiplier and setting the FSB to at least 140 Mhz. peace out.

oh BTW joinT, i did update the LE to a full blow Radeon DDR! Thanx for the tips though!

Guess you didn't notice CANADIAN pricing. $130 Canadian is about $85 US. In any case our stuff is usally more expensive here.

Nice setup,

You will probably find a few more MHZ after a good burn-in. I would leave it on all nite as well for a few days running something like Sandra Burn-in or Prime 95. Then you will find at least a few, maybe even more than a few MHZ more.

Good Luck,
OCnMan

hey BTW - instead of pushing your FSB a bit higher - why not up the Duron's multiplier a little bit ?? It'll be safer for your add-in cards (133/4 = 33Mhz, perfect 🙂)
ie.
[*]7.5*140 = 1050
[*]8*133 = 1064 & your video card, sound card, nic / modem, etc. will all be much safer & run better 🙂
plus - if you manage that high (i think a 750 would beat 1Ghz on average) it's also 14Mhz more 😀

hey JoinT, i am located in T.O... I bought most of my hardware from Canadacomputers on Spadina. I want to up the fsb so i can get and overall faster system, and i think my hardware can hand out-of-spec Mhz. As for getting WinSE from you, i don't beleive in pirating software! 😉
