The price is the same, the graphics on both are great, so which one would you get?

Does it really come down to which game you want to play?

How do you choose?

Dude, honestly.......... there are about 952850942850943855435984309857430954 threads that speak to this.

My advice?

Get a clue!

Well, of course it comes down to which games you want to play and which system you think has the most potential. X-Box obviously has the most potential hardware wise because its more powerful, but Microsoft is a newbie to the market and so they have the highest risk of failure. PS2 is a proven platform with at least 6 or 7 great games available for it already but the hardware is starting to show its age a bit. If you want a guarentee, just buy both ;) ... But If you only want to buy one, just make a decision based on what games are out already and what games will be coming out in the short-term (next 3-6 months).

Don't forget if you want to go online, X-Box already has broadband support, but PS2 needs an upgrade. PS2 needs an upgrade for the hard drive too but it isn't a necessary upgrade. X-Box can also run as a hard drive based audio jukebox, but you need to rip the music off of the CDs yourself.

Hardware wise alone, X-Box wins hands down, but you can't ignore the PS2's existing library, backwards compatibility with PSX and Sony's current dominance in the market (although Sony was the newbie last generation, so it is totally possible for Microsoft to take the lead in the console market this generation).

Both a a lot of potential. RIght now the XBox has a half-assed game library so you have to decide whether it's worth it to you to wait months to play the Xbox since right now there is only a couple worth really playing. It's the same with any new release system.

Ask yourself this:

Should I start a new thread on a topic that has been posted everyday for the last three months or not?

Do I use the search function or not?

PS2 will be around for a while, X Box has more balls. I have one friend who has an X-Box and one who has a PS2, and I'd say PS2 is a little more fun. It also has some cool gun games from Namco that are pretty sweet. Controllers are at the same level. The PS2 is smaller, the X-box is the biggest console I've ever seen. PS2 will also play PS1 games, which is cool since they're getting dirt cheap.

I'd go with PS2.

I guess we shouldn't try and help. Why did we post? So maybe next time you'd use the search function. If you had used it, you would have found multiple threads with this info. You would have had your answer in a matter of minutes of what everyone around here thinks.

It was to help you. I could care less how many posts I have.

because this is Microsoft's first gaming system, I would go with PS/2. When Microsoft brings out their second round of the X-Box, then buy one.

LMAO :D

BTW, who played/has Amped for Xbox? I got it last night, and can't stop playing... :D I think it's the best snowboarding game. (and before someone says it, Tricky isn't snowboarding ;)) It's tough at first, but when you start getting more skills for your boarder in the game, it's really fun.

<< Tricky is not snowboarding? Ok, neither is Amped. :) >>

hehe :D I come back to see if someone responded about Amped, and all I find is this GC fanboy... ;) j/k :)

I know SSX is a good game (I'll probably get it when it comes out for Xbox), but it's a racing game. The snowboarding part is too unrealistic IMO. Amped is a freestyle snowboarding game. Think THPS but with snowboard. It's addictive!

And how many of those games are good? I think the guy meant by half-assed that the games that are out right now are not very good, with 2 or 3 exceptions(choose from PGR, Madden 2002, Halo, and DOA3, depending on personal preference).

Amped is an awesome game if you love the extreme sports genre. It does has a very very difficult learning curve but hey whats the fun of the game if you can master it in 5 minutes right? :) ... If you liked Amped and you have a PS2 you should try checking out ESPN Winter X-Games Snowboarding. It was a PS2 Launch title but it wasn't too popular. The learning curve on that one is difficult as well, but its a lot of fun and can probably be had in the bargain bins for $20 or less now.
