I got my 8x4x32 sony burner from buy.com today. I installed it, my HD is now primary master, cd-rom is secondary master, and cdrw is secondary slave. i will be making an image first, thats why i set it up like that. the problem is, no burning software will recognize the cdrw. i can read cds with it just fine and everything, but they never find it. what do i need to change, it came with no driver disk and never even brought me to a "new hardware found screen" i use to ahve a burner, a 2x but i sold it for this one. anyhelp will be greatly appreciated, THANKS!

got the latest aspi drivers, and firmware? is your system still looking for your old cdrw? have you tried putting the cdrw as sec. master and the cdrom as sec. slave?

You dont need ANY drivers for Windoze to see the drive. I have that same drive. Just plug it in and it works. The supplied Sony burning program, CloneCD, and EZCD4 all work just fine. I flashed the firmware on mine when I got it only because there was a newer one available. It shows up in device manager as Sony CD-RW CRX140E. The firmware version is 1.0p. Boot up into safe mode (f8 key). Open device manager and remove any CD's that you see. Reboot normally and they should be re-detected
