personally, i never make backups...it just doesn't make sense to me...but thats just me...this guy does go a lil nuts tho...and it is compaqs? fault, i mean they said they wont touch the hd, they shoudln't have done anything to it...bastards...

i hate tech support, they never seem to help, i call them up, and 9 out of 10 times they tell me to shut it down, wait ten seconds and power it back up....next thing they do is tell me to reinstall the OS...WHAT??? just cuz my cable modem aint working and its connected to a router, and not even connected to my computer? ack where do they find these people?

Tech Call

I see a new Dell Commercial Possibility here.

What I hate is when people who have no business building a computer build one and don't know crap about how to properly set it up and call up technical support to get support. Then it turns out that the system is fine. They just don't know how to set it up properly.

Or when someone has a friend who is "knowledgable" about computers build them a system. Then the system starts locking up or doing some other odd behavior. Then they call technical support. They don't crap about computers yet they expect me to help them troubleshoot their system while explaining every little step along the way from how to right click to how to find out what kind of processor is in their system. Why don't they bug their friend who knows so much about computers or why don't they just buy a Dell or Gateway or some other pre-built computer frome people who are actually knowledgable. I can't stand morons.

Never, ever, ever send a computer out for repair and expect to get your computer back unmolested. Personally if I ever have to send my notebook in for repair I'm going to take my main hard drive out and throw my little 6gb drive in thats formatted with the default installation the notebook came with.
