I'm in high school taking the required "us government" class... and i'm just having a little debate with a few people.

Do you guys think it's appropriate to talk about communism vs. capitalism vs. socialism stuff in a class about the united states government? i mean, the class is supposed to be about stuff like the constitution, federalism, legislature, executive branch, judicial branch, that kind of stuff.

and especially when there's test questions like this:

"Matching---

A. Advantage of Capitalism
B. Advantage of Communism
C. Disadvantage of Capitalism
D. Disadvantage of Communism

1. Endless choices
2. something i forgot

ok, wtf, is that for real? well, "endless"... that's kind of a negative word right? or is it?

It's most definitely appropriate.

Yes. You have to include all possible aspects of politics when looking at our government.

Uhhh... ignorance on the subject of communism is horrible. They better be comparing and contrasting.

even as my OP kind of implies, i'm actually on the side of the argument that it should be included in the class. it's my weird friends that think it shouldn't. it was just that one test question that seemed pretty strange. but that doesn't really have much to do with it.
