hey all.. this sounds rather silly, but... so am i:
for some reason, the font in my web-enabled content part of my folders (the part where it shows size, modified date, attributes.. etc on the left has (mysteriously, and annoyingly) changed its font. by font i mean the big label under the little picture thing (it would be easier if you opened a folder and took a look). its a rather annoying font.. anyone know how to change it?

Have you tried to open Folder options and clicking the Restore Defaults button? It's also possible that the font didn't change but became corrupted (not likely though).

Also, the stylesheet for the web view is called webview.css. This may be a better place to change the default font. Make a backup of any files modified first.

ADVANCED option: Do a search for the folder.htt file. Open it in a HTML editor. This is the file that uses the webview.css for it's formatting. Messing up here may screw the web enabled section completely though. I would only change the stylesheet.

2nd warning - make a backup first.
