AHCI VS IDE Question
I just built a Asus P5Q Deluxe which is better?

I just got done installing WinXP and all my apps and I just started reading up on AHCI after I had an issue running Acronis True Image off the CD to do a back up..
It could not see the HDDs

I have a new WD 1TB Black coming tomorrow and should I take a few days to re-install everything to use AHCI or is there a way to get WinXP to boot off AHCI after it was installed in IDE mode..

In fact can I install WinXP in AHCI mode???
I think I just need to add drivers on floppy during install?????

I was reading my manual and it had 10x of DMA

Last time I was coming around here DMA was new 🙂

I wasing hoping someone would take the time to help and give me the short answer but I guess they think its beneath them........

I just wish my manual explained a little about these things other than it has the options..........

I have been away for a few years guess I need pick up where I left off.........

Anyone have any good message boards?????
I need to learn what I missed in the last five years.........
