AHCI Mode in bios

Run vista 64 on a gaming computer at home. Should I enable this in the bios, or leave it disabled? I run SATA drives, but not in raid configuration.
I am not sure if there is a benefit to enable it or not.

Unless you need the hot-swapping feature, leave it off. Performance is the same...

Performance greatly depends on how good implementation of NCQ your hard drive(s) have. Most consumer SATA drives have piss poor NCQ implementation. Seagate 7200.11 has received a lot of praise for their great NCQ perfomance.. Samsung F1 and new Western Digital Caviars (the ones with 320GB platters) have received mixed NCQ performance results.
