yep...its just gone...searched the hard drive for it...just not there anymore...really weird...and if u put in the XP cd it asks if u want to add anything, but wordpad isnt an option...

argh...oh the simple things that can cause so much annoyance
 
Do you have norton systemworks? If so, run it and see if it can find your lost wordpad. Or reinstall the OS over the top of your OS now(dirty install) that may re install it for you .
