So far I've ran 7 miles in 7 days (2 miles today to make up for a day I missed earlier)..

Plus working out otherwise at the local gym... (benching, curl ups, pushups situps and all sorts of other nifty things)

I'm not light either... I'm 240 pounds (I think anyways) and I don't even know why I'm motivated to do it, but damn... I feel good and proud...

I also quit drinking pop (soda) ((mt. dew)) about 3 & 1/2 weeks ago...

I don't know why I'm doing it, but it sure feels good :)

Good job, you are taking the first steps of a healthier lifestyle. I cut out stuff like soda out of my diet and continued to work out and it feels great.

2000th post, w00t!:D

werd... i cut down my soda intake by about 95%... i'll have an ocasional soda every once in a while.

The best feeling (well, second best) is having a great workout, then taking a nice cool shower than having a HUGE dinner. Food just tastes so much better when you're worn out but clean.

Like I said, I'm not fit... hell I was surprised I even could run a mile 7 days ago... since then I kinda just said keep doing it and see what the results are...

I'm going to gradually try more and more each day so yeah...

I gotta get fit first

and I used to drink 4 bottles of mt. dew, so I think it's safe to say that I'll hopefully lose some fat and gain some muscle...

Good for you Paulson. It will feel really good when you can run 4 miles a day pretty easily. I usually run this much 5 times a week in the spring and summer months. It took me months to build up to that level, but once you're there it's a piece of cake.

Don't you guys get bored when running for a long time (>3mins)?

Anyway how the hell are you 200+lbs? I'm trying to be 160lbs!! I used to be ~140lb in June, but then I got sick and dropped down to 115lb. Now after going to gym and eating properly I'm 134lbs. Its not bad really, I can bench around 100lbs (not consistently though), but still, I need to gain more weight!

And my eating habits got screwed because of Skule! :|

I weigh around 235... squat 500, bench 160, etc etc. Working back up to my running now (bout 1 1/2 miles at a time, working up to about 3 miles in a 30 minute session or so).

I'm like 6'2 or something...

maybe I don't weigh 240 anymore but last time (a long time ago) when I checked that's what I weighed...

*sigh* I should clarify... not real squats, just a semi-vertical leg press, not the "real" squats.

I wish I could do those, but blowing out my knee has its consequences.

My problem was that I started lifting heavy and less often and eating more and more and more wanteing to get bigger.. well then I quit working out altogether and now I'm a fatass.

I used to bench 225 for 20 reps (not a lie, I can tell you how to do it too) and 275 for 15
Shoulder press 120lb dumbells for a couple.. but could bench press them for like 18 reps.... :( :( Just typing this stuff makes me more depressed...

I cut out Dr. Pepper and went with diet DP and lost 5 pounds in a couple of weeks. I've been pretty stable with my weight lately. I am not heavy, I am 5' 10" and weigh about 165. The carbs with add up fast from drinking pop. I didn't change my eating or workout habits, just stopped drinking regular pop and lost the weight.

I need to do more cardio and less wieghts. I don't care too much about building muscle just want to be able to run a mile in less than 6 minutes like back in high school. Who has stolen my youth?

Yep... that's what I did at the end of last year. I was 190 at the end of my first freshman qtr... I was 230 at the start of this last qtr. I weigh 235 ish currently, I count that as a gain because of the muscle gain I've had in the last two months.

I quit that in high school, lost ten pounds or something over the course of the year. I started again this last six months or so, really bad decision.

I run 3.5 miles every day, 5 days a week and then do some rowing as well. This all after lifting weights. I am trying to get some toned muscles but its taking some time since I have no mass in my body:(
