It's all good until you wake up one morning to the blue screen of death :brokenheart: , thats when u realized you have to spend your next 5 hours reinstalling your OS and all your other software. Must be those cosmic rays...

I like the extras XP has but it feels bloated and slow compared to basic Windows 2000.

Maybe it's because I haven't defragged for over a year on our laptop and we're using XP Home.

Is there any difference if I defrag first, then re-format and do a clean install? Should I skip the defrag first?

No it is just the fact that XP Home sucks.

lol, if you are gonna format then dont waste your time defraging it will defeat the purpose

I only have 1 license for Win XP Pro which I'm using on my desktop :(
