Ah fvck - Update

I had results from measurements I took 2 weeks ago saved in an excel file with the plots and everything good to go. Since I needed many of the same formulas and stuff this time around, re-used that file. What I didn't do was save the new stuff into a new file so now all my old data is gone. Ugh.

I'll ask my supervisor if he wants me to take measurements again. He's seen the results already and was satisfied and asked me to move on. Hopefully I won't have to re-take the data.

Ugh. I am a noob.

Cliffs: Jesus saves. I should have too.

Update: I'm going to have to redo it. Ugh.

That's not feasiable (sp?). I'm getting the data right off a PNA so I save it onto a USB key. Take the key downstairs, import into excel, fool around a bit and then graph.

I've used a program called NTFS getdataback (iirc) in the past to recover older versions of files. It's somewhat hit and miss, especially if you've overwritten the file, but if it's going to take you days of work to re-create then it may be worth looking in to.

Well, it won't take me days to get back what I lost. Maybe a few hours at most. It's still annoying having to do something over again because of a stupid mistake.
