Lost two motherboards over the weekend. A Soyo SY-K7V Dragon Plus running a 2100 Palomino and my spare an Asus A7V333 which was a replacement from Asus for a customers machine. The ^#^%#^% thing seems to boot but no video.

So I guess its of to E-Bay to find an el-cheepo motherboard.

Can you hear the post beap when you boot that ASUS board? It sounds like it isn't posting. Make sure to try reseating the CPU and RAM a few times before you could that board out.

Don't know if it's what you need exactly but did you see the "Good deal on crunchers." post?

I was just testing on the bench. No speaker attached. Did all the usual seating and reseating. The board has a bad conection somewhere if you twist the board a little it will post. I will play with the board tomorrow. Just set up the old BX6 Rev2 700Mhz @ 935.

I need to go deworm a couple of computers. One family 3 computers all with "w32 welchia B worm".

I was going to ditto what Baldy18 said. My problem had similar simptoms. I never realized how useful the post code could be until I had a RAM problem. The result was no video. Anyway it sounds like you have got it narrowed down. Bad connections are the worst kind............. :frown: Almost as bad as worms.........😀
