I am having ongoing problems with my XP system hanging on boot at this file. Has anyone else had this problem?

mine seemingly hangs at the very same point , but then it continued to boot after I left it for a few minutes.
Have you tried selecting F8 when it starts to boot and select "Boot from last known good configuration" (or words to that degree) ?

shameless edit😀

Yes I have tried "Boot from last known good configuration" with no sucess. I have reinstalled XP 3 times in the last month and always because of this error. Once on a system with P3V4X, P3933, Voodoo5 agp and twice on my new system BD7II, P4@2400, Radeon 8500.
Thank god for dual boot to win98 but unfortunatly I cant access my files under the NTSF partition. 🙁

OK I did some digging around on Google and found This interesting link to a forum discussing the same issue , from what I can gather there a a number of different fixes that worked for different people .
Read the replies and see if you can try some of those fixes .
Best of luck to you.

Norton AV
Kazaa Lite 1.7
Nero
Office XP
Prime 95
The Playa
And a few others that work fine for a while. Strange since all of the programs work great under Win98.
When the computer ends up hanging on agp440.sys, I have not installed any hardware or sortware before before the problem rears its ugly head.
