AGP video card choice for me?

I have a shuttle SN45G XPC small for factor pc with only a single slot AGP slot for a "single slot AGP card." I previously had a 6800gt and while I thought the performance was OK since it could overclock to 6800 ultra speeds easily, it was TOO LOUD. Should I wait for better AGP video cards to be released or will this not happen since industry is moving to PCI-express? If AGP cards will not increase in performance, what AGP video card (6800gt performance or better) is the QUIETEST solution for my shuttle XPC?

Wait for another deal on x800xt's and strap an ati silencer 4 on it. Those things have great cooling and run very quiet.

Newegg, just had a sweet deal on those and I recommend them too. I have a machine running one and it flies. The AIW version is actually what I have because that is what Newegg had the deal on.

how come you didn't just put a silencer on the 6800gt?

anyway, you'll most likely need some sort of after market cooler on which ever mid-high range card in that case, so i'd just look for the best deal.

I imagine it would be because he wants a single slot card. For what it's worth, I imagine that your video card isn't the issue in terms of performance, if this is still accurate:
Shuttle SN45G
1GB Kingston HyperX pc3500 cas2
2 Maxtor 8mb cache drives
Samsung 352-B combo cdrw/dvd
Leadtek Ti4200 Vivo
AthlonXP 1.47@2.12Ghz, 211mhz FSB
...you are cpu limited, and you probably won't be able to squeeze much more out of this pc no matter what video card you install. That being the case, I would suggest keeping your current setup (and put up with the noise for a bit), and then upgrading to a PCIe system with a faster processor. The next generation of cards will be out soon, and you already have a powerful video card, so I would either wait to get a next gen card or at least benefit from the price drop it will bring to the current gen.

All that aside, if you just have to get a new single slot card right now, both newegg and monarch have good deals on the AIW X800XT or a regular X800XT.

Exactly, it needs to be SINGLE SLOT because all those "silencer" options don't fit in my case. Currently my cpu is a AthlonXP mobile (barton core) @ 2.5Ghz...FSB @ 225Mhz fwiw. Is my cpu still the bottleneck now?

AIW X800XT or a regular X800XT.
Are these cards the quietest solution for my current setup?

just change the fan on ur 6800GT to a Zalman VF700ALCU...problem fixed, its really silent and xcellent cooler...should easily take u past Stock Ultra speeds

Will the Zalman VF700ALCU fit in my Shuttle XPC with that "single slot" space? My pci slot is already occupied so it cannot exceed that.

hmm no it takes double slots....are ull ur PCI slots filled up?? anyway its always recommended to leave one slot near the GPU empty for good ventilation
