Building a comp for my buddy. He only has AGP. Is this the best available for him?

It depends on whether bragging rights (lots of memory) or performance (128-bit vs 256-bit memory bus) is more important.

Why build a new AGP PC? PCI-e cards are cheaper and should be upgradeable longer.

Probably about the best VALUE for him. You say he has AGP. What do you mean? You said you were building for him. You mean he just has a mobo and you need to build the rest?

No, the 6800 has 16 pipelines and a 256-bit memory bus.

This is a pretty nice find for the AR price, but the X800GTO will definitely be faster.

Only the GT and Ultra have 16 pipes. All other 6800's have 12 or 8 pipes........
