just a stupid question, but what can happen with you pull the little tab out of the agp pro slot and stick a normal agp card in it? Will it work flawlessly, or will it cause damage to the card/mobo over time?

that little tab is there to make sure you don't put a normal AGP card into that part of the slot, those pins that the tab blocks provide extra power and grounding traces to an AGP pro card and if your normal AGP card doesn't line up correctly in the slot and touches those pins you can fry both your motherboard and video card. So as long as you line up your AGP correctly it doesn't matter if the little tab is missing but it means you need to be careful when putting the AGP card in and when moving your PC around to ensure nothing bad happens.

Yeah, what he said... Those pins are for extra power to pro cards.
You WILL kill your card AND your AGP pro slot, and propably hurt/kill your mobo too.

But only if you stick the card into that part of the slot. I pulled the tab out of my A7N8X Deluxe and it's still working with an 8500LE.

Well, killing your card/mobo isnt a good thing at all. Honestly, I don't know how someone could fit a standard agp card in that part of the slot w/ the pins removed. It has another little bump at the bottom of the connector, like where the gap is between the pieces of the card, and the card could not possible line up with the case correctly.

I guess people will do strange things....
