AGP compatibility

I have a Soltek SL-85ERV mainboard with the VIA P4x400 chip set and I would like to use a ATI Radeon 8500LE which is AGP 2x or 2x/4x compatible. Will this be compatible with the AGP 4x/8x Soltek SL-85ERV mainboard? I know there are voltage issues. A 3.3v 2x card will damage the board; can the card be set to 4x 1.5v is probably the real question.

The ATi Radeon 8500 LE is fully AGP 4X 1.5Volt compliant and is autoswitching. You will not have problems with the card and the motherboard.

Thanks Andy:
I did some more research since my original post and found that it is unlikely that I could even install a 2x 3.3v card because there is a rib built into the 4X/8X slot to prevent installing a 2X card. When I read a sentence in the manual underlined "To Insert a 3.3v AGP 2X card into athe AGP4X will damage the system chip and burn the 1.5V circuitry" I thought I better make sure this card will work.
Thanks again for your quick response it was most helpfull.🙂
