I have AGP 4X enabled in my bios.
The manual for my 6800 pure say's it supports AGP4X with
fast writes.

Different utilities report that it is only AGP2X.
How do I enable 4X and fast writes?

Thanks,
Mort

if its enabled in your BIOS then you should be set.......keep in mind benchmarking tools are very INACCURATE, and anyway, 4x doesn't give a significant performance boost so don't worry about it :)

Hey Mort,

The issue seems to be with ASUS boards and overclocked PIII's (mostly 142MHz FSB+). There is no fix for this for now, but updating BIOS helped some people.

Fastwrites slows donwn performance. It puts part of the textures in main memory and makes them pass thru the agp bus when they are required witch is hella slow. Keep it disabled and all the textures go into video memory.
