My current motherboard has 4x agp. I want to upgrade to the lastest AIW video card for christmas and I was wondering, now that most stuff is 8x, would it make a difference for me in my 4x board? It's an IT7-MAX2 v2 and I have a solid 2.53@ 3.1GHz running on it. Would I have problems with Doom 3 and stuff or would I be all set?

Supposedly there is no difference between 4x and 8x. I also had a 4x AGP motherboard, and I asked about this too and someone said it didn't make a difference. When I tried to put my ATI 9800 Pro on it though, it wouldn't work. I upgraded to an 8x motherboard and it worked.

I hope you have better luck.

difference is aprox 0.5% in FPS measurable only in games that tax heavily on AGP, that is 1 frame every 200, not worth anything.
