AGP 2x faster than 4x?

Its kinda weird, disabled AGP 4x under the BIOS and my 3DMark 2000 scores shot up from 5900 something to 6300+. Switched back to 4x and got the low score, back again to 2x and bingo, high score. I'm using the Feb. something 2001 BIOS for my mobo. Detonator 6.50. Rig is below.

Is that Geforce video card a 2X or a 4X? If it is a 2X, it makes sense as to why you got better performance at 2X

try fiddling w/ fastwrites and sidebanding...(side band addressing)...

turn on fastwrites and see if your scores goes down w/ 4x...that is, if it's not enabled...

if u want a tweak to enable such features go to guru3d and it's the geforce Tweak utility...
