Anyone else notice the universe laughing behind your back ( gratuitous Deteriorata reference) as your body starts to breakdown? :cookie:

I'm just saying for me, someone whose career was building and fixing things having arthritis starting up in the hands is really a bitch and I could use a Variable focus on these glasses, please. Having one close distance focal length in the bi/focals restricts the spaces I can stick my head into and see wtf is up. and these drugstore magnifiers are just crap.
Add to that I now have Trigger Finger in both hands and opening doors lately has been a really painful experience.
Looking forward to shopping in a BORG catalog for personal physical prosthesis enhancement products for the latest in hooks. :disgust:
If we can get a 1/2 in square drive as an add on, that would be really cool.
As it is, cortisone shots are my friend, it's just a bitch having to direct someone into the sheath with the needle tip so they don't inject outside the tendon and waste the shot.
The guy at Kaiser was awesome.... got that needle's tip right in the hollow part and my fingers puffed up like ball park franks with the solution. :Q   That treatment lasted the longest. This last guy ( new medical plan doc) wasn't so accurate.
Need a fill up.

Cliffs:
1. Getting old sucks
2. Physical infirmity sucks
3. life sucks
4. New Medical plan doc sucks.
5. my rants suck

Ya, all that stuff sucks. Another thing I hate is getting to old to date young attractive women in their teens and 20's. That hurts me in my chest.

LOL, I made a PYT laugh today with my witty banter and it felt good for about an hour. Wore off though.

My eyes have started to crap out on my this year. I've been using PCs longer than most I would imagine (started in 1987). Staring at a monitor for 10+ hours a day for 20 years is finally starting to effect my vision. I haven't needed glasses so far so I guess I can't complain too much. Going to see the optometrist this week.

My birthday is next month and I had one of those "oh shit I'm getting old" moments. But then I realised all my friends are older than me and doing the same thing I do so I'm all good. Also, I'm still young bitches I'll be 23!!

One does what he must to pay the bills and survive with some measure of style. Then you add in the pleasures of playing slap and tickle with a bright-eyed dame, and you're most of the way there. Whether it's a PYT at the office, or a blue haired old broad in the produce section, getting them to giggle is one of those dying art forms. An hours worth is more than sufficient for any given day of the week. Go forth and giggle-ate with abandon.

41 today.

I can relate to the arthritis (hasn't hit my hands yet, but it's in my hips) and vision issues. My presbyopia started at about 34 and was very slowly getting worse until it really kicked in at 40. Now my food on the table is a blur and my arms are almost too short. I have reading glasses all over the house now, but thankfully all I need is 1x for reading and 1.5x for detail work.

However, weight training and cardio have kept me feeling and looking fairly young. I'm told I look 32 or so all the time and the young 20 something women still hit on me, so I can't complain too much.

BTW, Psynaut, there are plenty of 20 something women who love older men. Don't dispair. That is, if you can stand the drama.

Happy Birthday Amused. :cake;

I'm 48 and I'm still pretty much okay, no problems with anything really. Just slower, a little creakier, and hair growing in places it didn't before. The only thing I feel bad about is feeling like a lech when I'm oggling the young hotties. :p

Do you guys also seem to get more frequent loose bowel movements? That and my eye-sight are the things that are bothering me the most right now. Sometimes I get tender in weird parts of my body too -- my upper back was bothering me as well as my upper ribs. Just weird. And my foot tendon is bothering me because I've been walking.

Celebrex works wonders for my arthritis. Makes my knees and hands feel new again.

Trust me, I didn't forget that.
That's the ultimate in 'double secret unwritten rules'.
And as that it awaits all of us, it needs no mention.

Sorry to hear that.

I'd stick around and sympathize with you, but I gotta go nail an 18 year old cheerleader before dinner.

After a bit of discussion about cortisone and it's long term effects with the doc., I've modified my comparison of the two treatments.
It appears the Kaiser guy may have dosed me hard, with my mileage being varied as to short term effectiveness versus tissue available for corrective operation in the long term.

Getting the fluids checked, Gotta get checked under the hood, sitting at home letting the cortisone soak in. Doc said to avoid activity today so I guess beating off is out of the question....:brokenheart::eek::laugh:
Now what sucks is not having anything like sick or holiday time off, so it's an unpaid day off.

At least I have insurance....

Yesterday I turned 39 :( I have 1 year left to be in the 30's. I have yet to feel older in my mind, but the body just doesn't want to listen.

Ah yes, I remember the first time the doc slapped on a glove and said turn around. I was like wtfbbq?????? The exam was quick and results were fine, but a piece of me still died on that cold October day. :(
