Age of Wushu is a martial arts MMO which is set in Ming Dynasty China.
http://www.ageofwushu.com/

Showcasing Wushu martial arts, dazzling aerial duels, and a sophisticated system of combos and counters. The game features eight different martial art schools to choose from:

Emei
Wudang
Shaolin
Beggars' Sect
Scholars
Tangmen
Royal Guards
Wanderer's Valley

Players are given tons of freedom unparalleled in modern MMORPGs in their journey to master the ancient Chinese martial arts, to delve into their character's unique story, to face the consequences of every action, and to fulfill their destiny.

This game looks really cool and it's going to be free 2 play. Does anyone know more about it, or actually played it?

Reminds me of those Chinese Kung Fu soap operas my parents watch... and crouching tiger hidden dragon...😛

What's the gameplay like; how do you level up?

There are no levels, it's entirely skill-based.

Also unrestricted open world PvP.

Definately worth checking out, even if just to see the artwork which looks fantastic.

one of the articles linked in another post its like EVE Online as far as "leveling" goes. Another huge turnoff

That's a very interesting write-up, thanks. I'm definitely going to check this game out. I'm sick-to-death of theme park style MMOs in the WoW tradition. They're just so sterile and dull, especially in PvE servers with no real risk or excitement in the world. This one may be different. I've wanted to try EVE many times but not with such a disadvantage vs. ppl who started years ago.

State your definition of P2W and I'll give you examples afterwards.

My definition of P2W is paying for advantages. You pay to progress faster (typically XP boosts and the like), you can pay for faster or instant access to game play altering items (weapons, skills, etc.).

Well, I guess if your definition of winning = progressing faster than those that don't pay anything, then true there are no non-p2w ones I can think of.

There are plenty that I can think of that offer no real advantages over non-payers though (I don't consider faster progression as p2w).

With that said, the only thing this cash shop offers is different cosmetics and a mount, both which are on 30-day timers.
