Anyone playing this.

The game seems good. Hard for me to say just how good since I really haven't played much due to a surprising difficulty curve this game is presenting. Reminds a bit of old school heroes of might and magic 3 in that regard.

I'm struggling throuh the promised lands scenario. Wtf I have had to reload so many times it isn't funny anymore. Granted there are many nuances to the game I am slowly learning but damn.

is that the second mission where you have to conquer the dragon land place? The mission was pretty difficult, you basically have to leave a stack of tropps in every place you conquer or you'd get capped by marauding single unit cappers, and eventually they come in with bigger stacks that'll overwhelm you. Flamethrowers are cheap and pretty great for their value, and their presence is usually good enough to discourage ninja cappers.

I'd also suggest building walls (stone ones) so you can get a few turns of ranged attack if they do attack you, and it'll make it costly. Once they get tier 3 units and flier (succubus) you'll need better units to counter them though.

Also expand to the west, the dragon nest is on the nw corner.

Yes bee-line for the dragon nest and just buy them every turn. Once you get dragon armies of doom you can steamroll the rest of the map. I build up my starting cities considerably before declaring war so I had tier 3 units to attack with.
