Whatever the laws are, there need to be close-age exceptions. I think most states have them but it's ridiculous for them not to be in place. Imagine having perfectly legal sex when you're 17 and your girlfriend is 16, but the moment you turn 18 and she's 17 it's illegal even if you're only a few months apart!

Basically the way I see it is you shouldn't be able to legally have sex with someone, then it becomes illegal, then it becomes legal again. Hence setting a specific number of years within which it's legal.

I think all forms of sex should be legal as of 18, with your partner no less than 2 years younger.

So an 18yo can be with a 16yo or 17yo. 19yo with 17yo/18yo. Anything after that is fair game.

At least one error I saw - It's wrong about the state of NY.

From NY Penal code section 130.05:

3. A person is deemed incapable of consent when he or she is:
(a) less than seventeen years old;
