Check my answer to your other post.

Make sure the driver is for Windows NT version and not for only Win9x but sometimes it could be for either or.
If it's in a Zip file, open it into a folder you create in a partion that you can access from NT and go through the modem installation in the Control Panel. When you get to the types of modem section and if your modem is not on the list, select Have Disk and point to the file where you have the NT drivers.

Did you check those Hot Fixes in the Download section to see if your product qualifies?

What is that modem model number?

Also check the firmware update and see if it applies to you. Make sure you do it for the NT and not for other OSes.

Well if you go to their web site in the US and not their Japanese site,(I peaked in only briefly) they had few updates/patches that addressed few "fixes" for some known problems in their download section. Now I don't know if those fixes applies to your modem or not but you might want to take a look.

Dragin

you also hafta remember that Win NT isnt a PnP OS, so regardless of what you put in your BIOS, Win NT wont allow any program running on it to directly access hardware. It will always hafta go through the
Hardware Abstraction Layer. So if your drivers arent specifically setup for Win NT then it could rightly be that your SOL. I would also suggest downloading and installing Service pack 6a(I think this is the newest one.) It will provide your laptop with a larger driver database to draw from and maybe the piece of the puzzle you need. If you dont know where to find it, just goto http://www.download.com and search for it in the downloads section.

Hate being the bearer of (possible) bad news.
