Aftermarket Heatsink/fan on amd x2 processor

it says that if you use an aftermarket heatsink on the processor that you will be voiding the warranty. Is there any way for them to tell what heatsink/fan you are using? seems to me that you just put the heatsink ontop of the processor and they couldnt possibly tell how or which heatsink fan you have on there without physically looking... elighten me
