After XP SP1 or SP2 install - mouse quits

I reloaded Windows XP several weeks ago and when I try to load SP1 or SP2, the upgrade goes with no errors, but afterwards, my mouse quits working.

I have tried UBS and PS mouse connections and re-loading the drivers. Any ideas on what is causing this?

You might want to check in here because you need to find the right symptom to fix your problem. Also try another mouse or maybe use a different mouse brand. Check the bios also.

Some dude posted the exact same problem a few days ago. Weird.
