I've been on a quest for the perfect aftershave for quite some time now, and have yet to find it.

I've been using this for a while now, but it just doesn't seem to do much besides smell nice. I want my face to feel refreshed after putting it on, so I assume I should start looking for something non-alcoholic.

So, the question begs;

What are you guys using?
 
hrm, i shave w/ hot water only and a disposable blade, shower, then rub in about a pea sized amount of vaseline intensive care lotion
 
Does water count? I use an electric and don't have that much facial hair to begin with. I'll probably never use a razor; I'm jumpy and I just know accidents will happen when I start shaving close to my throat or jugular.

I shave in the shower with a disposable. No aftershave.

I don't think you can do serious damage with a razor, so long as it isn't a straight or safety.

True, and it's difficult to do too much with a safety. The first couple of shaves came off a bit sharp and with a few nicks, but nothing since. You'd have to make a serious mistake to do any real damage.

I'm staying away from a straight blade though.

If you can't get the food in your mouth without getting it on your face using a razor blade may not be in your best interests.
