ok so before yesterday i had had a stable overclock to 3.0ghz on my e4400 (10 x 300). I'd never tried to go any higher because I'm using the stock cooler but yesterday since it was a little cooler I tried going to 3.1 ghz and bumped up the voltage a little. I ran orthos for about 20 minutes, then I got bored decided to do the full stability testing later and play the crysis demo now. After playing the demo for about 20 minutes my computer froze up and I restarted. Now I am unable to boot into windows and I get a blue screen whenever I try. I had also just yesterday bumped up my overclock on my 2900xt from 850/950 to 855/990. Although this oc had been fine in 3dmark, before the pc froze up I'd had been getting artifacts.

my hardware:
core 2 duo e4400
gigabyte ga-p35-ds3
2gb ocz ram
diamond radeon hd 2900xt @855/990
vista ultimate x64
2x400GB drives in RAID 0

my overclock:
before yesterday...
e4400, 3.0ghz (10 x300), 1.34v with vdroop
memory 2.1v (4-4-4-12), 1:1 memory ratio
mch +.1v
pci-e +.1v
fsb +.1v

yesterday..
same except 3.1ghz (10 x310), 1.376v with vdroop

Can you boot using a a last known good config or in safe mode?

I dunno what the default voltage is on that, but if you go up too high you could damage your processor, which could cause your problems.

Or it could just be a corrupted driver due to the BSOD.

What is the error message on the BSOD?

the strange thing is, I dont get it anymore, now after it finishes with the part where the loading thing is on the bottom, I just get a black screen except for my mouse, which is on the screen and moves. Yesterday I was able to get into safe mode, but would only be stable for about a minute before crashing. Now I get the same thing as when I try to boot normally, a black screen with a mouse.
the cpu vid is 1.32
I dont remember what the error message was. If I can get it to appear again I'll write it down.

yea, I tried that, but when i put my windows cd and tried to boot onto cd, it started to load stuff from the cd and then tried to boot into windows.
could I be a complete idiot and be booting from a cd incorrectly?

you usually have to hit a key to boot from the CD, or else it just continues to boot to HD.
