After ONE DAY of playing BF1942, need Some Help..............

Okay, I just installed BF1942 Deluxe and I could use some help with a few things:

1. How do I stop the Startup Video from playing ALL the time after I click on the BF1942 icon to start the game? Is there a Menu Setting to disable the video, or would I need to edit a file to make this happen?

2. Can I play the game in 1280X1024 resolution, or am I just limited to 1280X960 format?? If this is possible, how do I edit the BF files?

3. How do I modify, change the Multi-player Server Filters?? Anyone know of a link that explains this? I would like to use a filter when looking for a server, but there really isn't anything in the manual that explains this....

Thanks guys.

1. add "+restart 1" to the end of the command line in the shortcut properties

2. i don't think you can

3. You mean like the filters in counter-strike? the only filters ive used are the ones on top of the list. i dont think theres more specific ones.

Thanks for the Tips.

For the Filters, in BF1942 when you search for servers, above there is a bar for 'FILTERS.' But there is no drop-down menu to select which filters you want. It seems like you have to manually key them in. But I have no idea of what I would have to type in, or what available filters there are for the BF1942 Multi player servers?

Any idea?

if your looking for a specific map you can just type in the first few words on the top and it'll only search for those. tryout berlin 🙂

4. ALSO, why do the MAPS take Sooooo long to load. At least anywhere from 1-2 minutes to join a game. I have a very fast PC, so I'm not sure if there is a setting I can enable in the game or in XP to really, really speed up the map load times. I used Diskeeper to defrag the drive right after install.

This is what I have: P4 3.0c, ABIT IC7, 1GB of PC3500 Kingston Hyper X @ 2-2-2-5, Installed on a WD 120GB 8MB Cache, Radeon 9700 Non-Pro, SB Audigy 2 ZS.

Is there a memory setting I could change in XP? Anyone know what I should/Could do to speed up the load times.

get a raptor... 😛 😉 jk...

yeah it takes a while especially if you have all the eye candy turned on... i have an AMD 3200+... 1GB PC3200... 2 Raptors in RAID... and a 9700 Pro... still takes a while. 🙁

i have pretty much the same setup as you, and it takes about 1 minute on average, the maps are big, really big....i think its pretty average

was gonna say ram, but u have that. doesn't take two minutes for me, 1 min max and thats for desert combat maps which are bigger. plain 1942 doesn't take long.. dunno why. i just have 80gb 7200rpm, vanilla generic pc 2700, and 1800@2.4ghz xp.. game eats over 512mb easy, over 700+ on desert combat.

any wayt o skip the ea and other cr@p logos on all ea games? annoying as hell.

and also annoying how server lists don't save..and filters don't stay set😛
