after market USB headers

Is it possible to get an after market front case USB header for a computer case that I have that does not have the USB header on it.

This is for a Lian-Li case that I have, that either did not come with the header or perhaps I have lost it somewhere along the way because when I purchased this case I was not interested in having any USB devices connected and either I misplaced it or gave it away with some other old equipment. But I am sort of thinking that it did not come with one, because I would think that I would have kept it, in case I changed my mind about using it.

I have tried contacting Lian-Li about this but trying to get in touch with them is like trying to pull hens' teeth.

Thanks.

Good response Woodbutcher .

@wpshooter. If Woodbutcher's post didn't cover your case, then which Lian-li case do you have, so that we can help?

It is a Lian Li case but I am not exactly sure of the model number, in that, it is not marked with the model number on the back.

I have another Lian Li case which is very similar (but not exactly the same) to this one and it is a model PC60 (clearly marked on the back panel).

The one I am needing the header for, has marking labels on the inside of the front flip-down USB door opening for 4 USB ports.

On the opening that the header is supposed to fit into, the screw holes that are for attaching the header are 4 & 3/16 inches apart from center of each screw head and the opening for the plug of the header (which is centered between the 2 screws), measures 1 & 5/8 inches long and 1/2 inch high.

I am thinking the model number for this case is PC61 but I am not sure.

Edit: In looking on Google, I think maybe both of the cases are model PC60, just that the older one (the one I am looking for the USB header for) is a slightly older vintage of the PC60 that had a 4 port USB header opening, while the newer vintage has only a 2 port USB header opening. I know that the one with the 4 port labeling on the door is the first of the 2 cases that I purchased while the one with the 2 port labeling on the door is the second case I purchased.

Thanks.

I've had a look on google and I have found this website, which seems to have quite a large range of replacement parts for Lian Li cases.

I don't know if this would fit your case, but SilverPCs may be able to tell you. It could be 'generic' where will work in all Lian li cases.

I'm sorry but I couldn't find any Lian li front panel connectors which have 4x USB ports.

You couldn't pay me to use that LL unit with all those single pin connections...

I had a case a few years back that came with single pin connectors for FP USB 2.0 ports. It was not difficult to sort out pinout... I then used two small cable ties and heat shrink tubing to group it all together. It actually worked out fine... but yeah, if I had a choice, I would not have gone through the trouble.

That's the biggest drawback to the CoolerMaster Elite 330 cases. The FP_AUDIO connectors are all single wires. What a PITA. OTOH, the Xion XON-403 cases have a single block for the FP_AUDIO. Thank goodness.

And the Antec 300 has both blocks for FP_AUDIO and HD_AUDIO. In fact, I'm not even sure which one to hook up to my K9A2 Platinum, so I left them unconnected. (Don't need FP audio on my F@H box anyway.)

LMAO. You just reminded me that one of my current cases, a Cooler Master RC 631 Mystique, has an even larger bundle tied together with cable ties and shrink tubing... the FP HD Audio single pin connectors... the mess was made even messier: I had to tie back the AC 97 single pin connectors, as well. I was left with a might larger mess than a USB header connector left me with... However, despite the more complicated undertaking, I was still able to form the pins into a working group that plugs in and out again. But yes, I had a nice little headache once I was done with the project.

The Silverstone Zepper pointed out Is my favorite, it comes with HD and AC97 audio plugs prewired and has 4 usb. If a front panel connector of any sort comes with single pin outs I'll make my own.

I used to get the single pin connectors on correctly and then run a strip of hot glue across them. From then on they were easy to use... But now I'm lazy and expect multi-pin shells.
